But things got tense during an interview with Tory MP, Mark Harper.

Charlie, 61 asked him if he agreed with the Home Secretary’s pro-Palestinian demo comments.

Mark replied: “What we’re all focused on doing in Government and across the police is making sure the protest that takes place on Saturday, takes place peacefully and in an orderly way.”

Charlie pressed further, asking, “Do you agree with your colleague, Home Secretary Suella Braverman, who referred to the rallies as ‘hate marches’?What are your thoughts on her sentiment and choice of language?”

Despite the persistent questioning from the BBC Breakfast host, the Tory MP skillfully avoided directly answering the question.

Staying persistent, Charlie attempted to ask Mr Harper again about whether he agreed with the home secretary use of the term “Palestinian mobs”.

Charlie who at this point was getting frustrated, said: “I’ve given you three opportunities to offer your agreement to your colleague the home secretary Suella Braverman.”

The BBC Breakfast host continued: “You’ve chosen not to do that on three occasions. Does the home secretary have your full backing and full confidence?”

It comes after BBC Breakfast fans were ‘put off their food’ as MP, Nadine Dorries ‘flirted up a storm’ with Charlie this morning.

The MP, who has recently resigned from public office, joined the pair to promote her new book.

As she laughed at her own joke, Naga chimed in and said: “Well only the internet can decide that.”

BBC Breakfast continues daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
